What is a Root Canal

Root canal treatment gives teeth a second chance.

Our teeth have hallow roots and contain tissue that enables the root itself to fully grow to maturity in our childhood. Once grown, teeth roots become firmly attached to our jaw bones Over time, due to tooth decay or structural damage, this “pulp” tissue may be exposed to bacteria that are normally present in our mouth, but these same bacteria injure the pulps. Fortunately, these teeth have already completed their role in tooth development.

The damaged tissue inside our teeth irresponsible for a toothache or a dental abscess, either of which, if left untreated will eventually result in tooth loss.

Now for the good news! We all want our teeth for a lifetime in order to look good, feel good, and chew! The damaged tissue inside our teeth can be predictably, precisely, and comfortably removed and replaced with a biologically safe material which could be referred to as a “root canal system implant.” Your restored tooth is as good as new!

And more good news!! Endodontics treatment enables us to keep our “natural” teeth for the some million needed chews per year that we humans require.
